Wiglett and Toedscool can't be the only ones and the dlc WILL introduce more.

That Pokémon cannot exist in already established lore as there's no way Entei, Raikou and Suicune existed in prehistoric times as they were created after the collapse of the original Bell Tower and the Bell Tower wouldn't exist then.

I don't think "convergent" is a new category like regionals though, it got not advertisement as such(only Wigglet), two species and the mine reveals the Toed line was added later on.
I think it was just wigglet's gimmick that they reused for toedscool, and not a thing that will be from now on.

I'm actually in the middle of the road on the timetravel/imagination thing. I feel like it's going to be pokemon getting pulled from past/future areas, but said areas are basically pocket dimensions based on the professors imagination.

That said, I feel like GF will shit the bed and just be like "It was actually just time travel all along!"

Yes, the difference is that instead of the machine being a 3D printer that just makes the pokemon, it's instead physically pulling them from another actual location that was made from the professor's imagination. So similar idea but different aspects to it.

Main reason I'd like this is because it'd be cool if the DLC let us go to this dream like imagined past/future

They're shrodinger's cat basically, without the observation condition. The professor wanted to create a time machine but either laws of the universe or Arceus forbade such a contraption, given only two pokémon are shown to have the ability to move through Time (both legendary-tier, one said to have created the flow of Time upon its birth) and neither were involved with the project. Third legend steps up and makes the machine work. But as it's making it work against the Laws, it creates a new dimension outside the regular multiverse for the machine to connect to the past/future paldean region and make it a reality for the professor. Paradoxes come through, being of "Past/Future" origin, when they're imaginary past/future pokémon, from a place that shouldn't exist.
Hell, that could extend to the early expeditions, where people wanted to see a new "vocarona or donphan" or Heath could have privately wished to see what his beloved Cyclizar's species were like in the past/future, hich just makes it a stable loop, as Heath's book inspired the Professor to build their Time Machine, which would put the blame on Heath's mindwandering during the expedition.
