>fully open world mainline pokemon game
>live online co-op
>mixing up the formula by giving you the box legendary right at the start of the game
>the world/location designs feel like right out of the anime
>gyms have actual trial minigames rather than just beating up 3-7 trainers before the leader
>raiding the villain base actually involves you and your team mowing down scores of mooks in quick succession instead of slogging through 30 1v1 battles
>actual boss pokemon battles
>multiple routes of story progression; gyms, taking down the villains, beating the titans
>one of the less shitty generational gimmicks that allows pokemon to change their type
And yet, just about every idea fell flat as shit.
>borken glitchy mess that still wants to railroad you because level scaling or something was too hard
>broken mess and not much changes with other players running around
>its just a ridemon til' its not
>the world, while good in design, couldn't feel less alive, or even authentic with npcs blindly patrolling saying the same 3 lines over and over
>the minigames are retarded and unlosable, not looking for a hardcore challenge, but its just monotomy
>run around villain base and mash R til' the boss fight
>titan fights are ok I guess
>still need to do everything, can't actually choose to focus on any of the story routes
