I will add another point: make sure your shroomish/breloom does not have effect spore on it when you go catch pokemon with it, otherwise you can end up in a horrible accident where the pokemon you are trying to catch poisons itself.
This will not allow you to put it to sleep anymore, since it has a status effect on it already, and if you were false swiping already, it will be at 1 hp at die at the end of the turn.
