Im actually just in the process of wrapping this up now, on the final greevil 6 man team and then I just have some shadow pokemon I missed+endgame ones to catch before I can purify Shadow Lugia
Damn good. Manages to be one of my favorite romhacks despite the limitations in what can be done compared to GB/GBA today.
Some highlights:
>Revamps shadow Pokemon mechanically. All shadow moves are now super effective against all non-shadow pokemon, and not effective against other shadow pokemon. There are dozens of new shadow specific moves and held items relating to shadow Pokemon both in defending against them and making yours more powerful.
>Fairy type, lots of moves ported from newer generations with animations as well as held items
>Alolan Marowak, Nintetails, and Bonsly
>Revamped encounter tables for each of the Pokespots that actually yield usable and good Pokemon
>Every encounter revamped from story battles to the facilities, battle bingo even
>As a result a new selection of shadow Pokemon and like 110 of them
>Pokemon are all rebalanced to be busted and fun, Wailord gets Drizzle and Slack Off for example, lots more as well. Already top tier pokemon seem to be kept in line or updated to their current set ups.
Its fun but balls hard, too. You definitely want to run a competent, cohesive team of Pokemon. They give you the means to start rain and sunny day teams pretty early.
Start is hard as your team is coming together
Middle is easier
Finale is balls hard as Shadow Pokemon refuse to get into the ball and bear down on you with endless super effective hits and you basically need the defense items or a shadow Pokemon of your own to withstand the onslaught of damage.
Shadow Lugia is basically "dare you not to use the masterball bitch" it oneshot all of my pokemon besides Wailord with the defense item on.
Top tier, highly recommend.
