They only C&D Prism and that's probably because the word Prism was prominent during Gen 7. They haven't gone after other romhacks, some of which have work on the level of Prism like Clover.

I returned to my Prism playthrough. I got all the Rijon badges, then did the Battle Arcade and Tower with a Garchomp, Togekiss, and Blissey. I got the Mystery Ticket and only need to do the Mystery League now. Prism is packed with a lot of content, I just wish Rijon's level curve made more sense, you go grom level 50s all the way to the 80s very quickly and the wild pokemon are all as shit as gen 2 Kanto's anyway.

I'd always prefer that a game only get a v1.0 "finished" release with a few months later given for bugfixes. All hacks/games released as a "finished" v1.0 which are given daily, weekly or monthly updates to the point it's at v4.4.1.5 should get DMCA'd so the devs can fuck off. Something being labelled a demo is still far more honest than the Crystal Clears of the world that should be treated as demos until they're actually done.

it is old (finished around 2012 i believe), made before the decomp came out, only has 386 pokemon from gens I-V and the story is pretty stupid
however, it is one of my favourite hacks ever
it has aged nowhere nearly as poorly as light platinum
you can catch all the gen I-IV legendaries and 8 from gen V, and they each have minigames
it has 2 main regions (Tunod, which is OC, and Johto) and one semi-region (Rankor, 4 gyms + world championship) which brings the total to 20 gyms + world championship + legendary events + battle tower
the updated version some redditor made updates movesets and abilities and fixes
it is easily a top 5 hack of all time, and the fact that it was made so long ago is unbelievably impressive

Maybe a Ghost type? You've got a fighting cover in Togetic but still half your team is fighting weak. Gastly is available in Castelia Sewers, Yamask soon too at the relic castle. (I think a few other ghosts are available there too, but I don't recall who exactly)

Feels like someone said "yeah I can make Emerald 2 in 2018" and then actually succeeded. I appreciated them picking mons from all (then) current gens but not trying to force every single one of them in. They all fit the area and order you get them in. And besides a few tucked-away NPC moments it feels pretty seamlessly genuine to a real Pokemon game.

Maybe Alakazam could be a good option? Both it and Reuniclus have magic guard so using a life orb on either could be fun. Reuniclus would be the way to go if you want bulk, Alakazam if you wanted to just kill things. Gengar could be good for a fighting immunity, like >>52812604 said, but if you want to hit fighting for SE then a psychic ain't bad either

I remember that Colress fight being a pain too, speed boost can get out of control on that thing if you don't kill it fast. Definitely took me a few tries, more than the final Colress fight I think.

Also, I just started playing Gaia and got the starter choice, can anyone tell me what pokemon is the best? I tried playing that and while I could recognize the craftsmanship at a glance and heard great things about it, as I played I could just tell it wasn't for me. I'm really big on immersion and it just didn't feel totally right to me. A little too sassy if that makes sense, or stuff like the guy exclaiming 'Jesus Arceus Christ'. Definitely not a big deal overall but just not for me. Same reason I don't bother with Pokemon Clover even though as a game I'm sure it's great.

Works sometimes, getting rid of secondary typings to become say, mono-water with a stat boost is good.
The real issue with Infinite Fusion is two fold. First a smaller one that most fusions have one orientation that is objectively better than the other, which on its own isn't an issue, but can become one because oftentimes you'll have one with great pixel art, and another with an computer generated sprite, and the computer generated fusion sprite represents better stats and abilities/typing. So the effort put in becomes wasted.
Second that the equations they use to calculate the stats end up averaging down the Base Stats of both monsters most of the time. Its only really ever 'worth it' to Fuse two monsters of the same rough BST total, that have opposite Stat distributions. This is larger and more fundamental to the system. In a game where the gimmick is fusing, its very situational whether its going to be at all worth it.

Fairy Type fixed the game.
GF introduced too many OP Dragon and Fighting types, things had to be balanced off.

Although if I were Game Freak I'd have made Grass resist Fairy, and Bug be super effective against it.
Perhaps even Grass being super effective against Fairy.
To give both of those types a boost.

There aren't that many good Fairy Types outside of Legendaries. And the type is effectively an Anti-Meta creation, if you're not relying on a strong core of Fighting Types or Dragon Types, its not as hard to beat.

Sorry for the late response, but I'm generally a fan of the Vanilla+ kind of stuff. Still on the fence with hacks that add pokemon or features from future gens, like putting Galvantula in Pokemon Emerald or the phys/special split in gen 2 games. But coral also looks interesting despite having those traits since it seems to be another region entirely but in the pokemon crystal engine. Not so hot on fakemons though, those are always off looking to me, somehow. So like I said, looking for Vanilla+ but I wouldn't mind a complete overhaul.

They're released mostly contemporaneous with the generation that they apply to, and offer either a difficulty increase along side some convenience mods and the ability to catch that gen's full national dex. You would appreciate some aspects of Prism more if you played Brown first.
Brown, the protagonist is a superboss in Prism. Mura, the rival of Brown, is an Elite 4 member in Prism too. The Palette Ranger leader was a superboss in Brown originally and said what his plan for Prism was. Prism also has some interesting lore like Brown actually losing the championship fight to Lance. The Rijon portion of Prism has some references to Brown too.
Brown is an alright game. It's gen 1 mechanics but it has post gen 1 pokemon like Electivire and it's interesting to see how they work with the Special stat. Gym fights are fun. The protagonist also isn't silent.

Depends what you want in a hack. They are fairly straightforward. Every mon available, changed types and movesets, increased difficulty, modernised features, small additions to content - mainly events for Legendaries.

I like his hacks, and consider them a staple of the genre. You might not like some of the type changes (eg Flygon is Bug/Dragon), but he always provides a classic version where the type changes are removed so it's not an issue.

I liked the whole puzzle the mansion - figuring everything out on my own. The mansion story also merged well with the NPC dialogue from the forest. The payoff, however, felt over the top in my opinion. Maybe the dev meant it as a nod to creepy pasta hacks, but I don't think it fits with the rest of the game. It's too meta for a pokemon game to fuck with the interface and expectations like that.

All Pokemon fangames are singular narrow shits that do the same thing over and over again, there isn't even a good completed Mystery Dungeon Pokemon fangame.
There isn't a game that tries to use other fanworks like mystery dungeon victory fire the comic book, probably because the engine/framework is too dogshit to turn it into a proper adventure game, that game relies too much on running sequences, dodging, fighting the environment, overall being an adventure game, not a plain ass RPG all about grinding stats.
