Strange topic, Idk this maybe strange to zoomers or protozoomers (92'-); but did the fact that pokemon were nothing more than fauna bother anyone else? All of these interesting character designs were nothing more than semi-sentient breeds as opposed to characters, that bothered me as a kid, and eventually led me to abandoning the series along with other factors.

every show in the 80's-90's had mutants and freaks with very few humans. Also my parents were opposed to pets, they said there were an unnecessary expenditure.
It would be all well and good if the humans had personality, but they didn't. It was honestly disappointing overall. Also any mon aside from Meowth was retconned out recently because of their approach to making such a dull world.
