The whole point of dunsparce was that it was a stupid (dunce) pokemon that was rare to encounter (sparce) so in gaining an evolution it also gained value in the three segment form. With the way modern pokemon games are designed, theres literally no such thing as a rare pokemon. Things like Gen 1 Chancey and Gen 3 Bagon just cant exist. Modern games focus more on the AMOUNT of pokemon you catch, so the chance that 1/100 of them could be three segment, have an authentic pot, or experience child mortality is the best compromise. Dudunsparce is proof GameFreak still understands the appeal of their fictional monsters- something even the fans forgot.
