Dawn needed the nightly calls more than anyone could imagine. Every single night, no matter how late, she stayed awake in bed, just waiting for her phone to ring. Sometimes it took until 2 or 3 o'clock, but she didn't care. The only bad days were when the call never came. She knew he was busy, but she couldn't help but cry to sleep on those lonesome, cold nights. The contests hadn't worked out for her and she felt so lost, but Ash gave her motivation.
He made her feel warm and important, like she still mattered. Everything would be okay as long as Ash was still there for her. She had no idea about Chloe.
Every night Ash would get everything he needed from his Cherry blossom, and then some. After he hung up on Dawn, he'd throw himself on Chloe. He felt bad about the times he got carried away and neglected to call, but who could blame him? When you've got everything you could ever want right in front of you just waiting, sometimes you'll just lose yourself in the moment. There's nothing like it.
