>>52815526The current gen is not pokemon, so gen 8 wins by default. Specially when we consider spinoff games like legends.
But the devil is in the details and there's a lot of paid shills lying in this thread, so I will elaborate:
>Graphics: Gen 9 is clearly a downgrade in terms of graphics, even when we take into account only pokemon games. Gen. 9 is open world and is way less detailed than the former gen, including the fact that it contains buildings that players are unable to access, stock male NPCs used as females and so on. If the game still worked fine this would not be a issue but combining bad graphics with shit fps leads to frustration.
>Performance:Everyone knows that Gen. 9 has performance issues. The game was rushed and it shows. For bad or worse, you could play gen 8 without much issues compared with gen. 9
>Pokemon design:This gen is rushed. Unfortunately, this is the truth and it shows. Many new pokemon look more like fakemons than in gen.9 and many designs seems to have been sent based on the first draft. There are a couple of awesome designs (like Annihilape) but for the most part it's meh. This is not to say that Gen. 8 was better designed. If you ignore Quaquaval (disgusting pokemon in my personal opinion), the number of cool, ok and bad pokemons seems to be the same.
>Battling:Gen 9 actually removed elements from the game and options that existed since the 1st game. This was probably because the game was rushed but just this fact is enough to put the game below anything gen.8 did. This gen gimmick (tera) actually don't matter that much, since it will be ignored later like everything.

Overall, gen 9 is a downgrade in almost everything.
