My longest hunt for a shiny contrary snivy in gen 7 took over 200 boxes of eggs (6000ish)

oh dear me, i could never do that. i've had to hatch a lot of eggs for team building purposes, and it was absolutely miserable. i do have a shiny sprigatito, though! i got one of them from a friend, so i was able to add it to my team. honestly, i have a lot of respect for shiny hunters. it really does take a lot of patience to shiny hunt, but if you're determined to get a shiny, then you'll get one eventually!

Then your chances for a shiny is 1 in 1365.67. With masuda and the shiny charm could be 1 in 512.44. It's RNG it can be the first box or 10 boxes. This is why i said it's better to do it with the best odds possible.
