I used to work at a dog grooming and boarding place, and this client often wanted their poodle done in a wild style. Nerdy as shit, dyed hair, multi-piercings, tons of pink and striped long socks, looked like she had jumped between at least 3 different genders a year.
Our groomers swore that the dye was safe for the dogs and never harmed them, not sure how much I believe it since they had to stay still and wet for a while to let it set, and so many dogs do not want to do that ever.
Regardless, one day they wanted their little princess trimmed like a Pikachu. This was like a month away from the launch of Sun and Moon. Owner was so excited when the poodle came out. I asked her if she was excited about the new games and she didn't even know they were still making games??? I asked what her favorite was and she said Charmander. Said she loves the show when she was younger. I just kinda smiled and waved her out after and was so confused someone was simultaneously a mega nerd for the old culture but had no idea what had happened for like the past 15 years since.
