>>52821551I played Gen V for the first time last year and started with the first one, thought it was definitely worth it. The experience is completely different, it really feels like a sequel and not just an upgrade. The first one doesn't feature any non-Unova mon until post-game while you see them from the beginning in the sequel. BW2 starts in a completely different part of Unova that wasn't in BW1; you'll go through three towns, two routes, two areas and two gyms that are completely new before you first get to a city from BW1. Routes and cities that were part of BW1's post-game are now mandatory parts of the main game. It's not a second region like gen2 had, but it does give a similar feeling as to revisiting Kanto; you've been there before but what you're doing is completely different.
