Paldea doesn't even count since it's not a town. I have a huge soft spot for Blackthorn but I think Sootopolis takes this and it's not even close. The fight for second place is way more interesting. Blackthorn and Sunyshore are cool after being locked away all game, but on the other hand Viridian and Hammerlocke are cool for having you come back to them.

paldea doesn't count so I'd say sunnyshore loses. it's a cool city but nothing that makes it cool as a last gym location. humilau is similar but has better music.

Viridian Gym has that kino twist with Giovanni
Opelucid City future has the keytar guy
Snowbelle City is the best snow/ice town with the a nice dramatic ost
Sootopolis City is cool for how you discover it via diving
Blackthorn City is sort of boring by itself, but the Dragon's Lair makes up for it
Sunyshore is strangely uninteresting for a futuristic solar panel city, I guess because the graphics aren't really there. It's still looks very brown and rugged like the rest of Sinnoh.

Didn't play the rest.

gen 3 is easily the best and making you find it in the ocean and use dive to get in is peak kino. people complain about water routes because random encounters but man i miss that kind of exploration and puzzle solving. now you just just jump all over the place and do anything you want, its fun but i wish there were puzzle elements to the exploring like zelda

Viridian is nostalgic

The one in Kalos is forgettable
Poni Island is wild
Hammerlocke is a literal hallway

Discounting Glaseado which isn't even a town and Hammerlocke because I didn't play those games, I'll vote for Snowbelle as the worst because of how contrived it is for it to be snowy in this specific place. Probably one of the worst offenders of "theme park region" design.
