>>52826322Nothing. In fact I'd even call this an improvement. The evil team schtick can only get you so far and they ran it into the fucking ground by the time Team Flare came around. The best evil team was and still is Team Rocket because of their grounded goals and methods. They didn't want to destroy the world, they were just in it for the money. Everything after that was varying levels of retarded, and only humored because everything else in their games worked so well. Magma/Aqua, Galactic, Plasma, and Flare are all dumb teams with dumb plans. They correctly realized that the main villains are the compelling characters, not their teams of generic henchmen. The Aether Foundation and Macro Cosmos were vestiges of the old ways, and SV were right to all but completely drop them. Team Star aren't the villains of the story, they're just a tertiary faction that provides an antagonist for the player to fight while the actual story develops. Pokemon games don't need to follow the same shitty plot as every other JRPG about the world being in peril, it can just be a casual little character-driven adventure like Gens 1 and 2.
