Sun and Moon featured far far FAR more kanto pandering than just Red in the battle tree. How about 100% of the regional forms being from Kanto? How about Pikachu Valley? How about the Player Character being from Kanto, with tons of Kanto items in their house, or Lillie going to Kanto in the finale? The Alolan league literally only exists because Kukui was inspired by the Kanto League. Alola's identity lives in the shadow of Kanto.
