Don't care what anybody's says this was an executive decision pushed by the higher ups and one of the many evidence that Journeys had an obsession with being 1:1 with the games.

Everything was in service to the plot which is why we got ash and leon in the finals instead of ash vs leon at the start cause in any sports tournament the 8th place always fights the first place. There was even an article which says what if ash didnt have plot armor. He is eliminated in the first round

Also if they really wanted a 1:1 with the games ash wouldnt have no bond phenomenon or whatever the fuck dracovish used against leon. Cynthia even though shes my favourite champion should not have no dynamax togekiss and would have a lucario not that it will make a a difference. She gets mega comp cause of sun and moon but thats it. Also no fking way alain would be there that was revenge for xy and was very bitter of the writers to do maybe adler or N would take his place bur who the fk knows. The story would progress as is but if its 1:1 with games it would be leon cynthia finals. Based on narrative even i admit leon would win but based on if wverything was simulated based on game mexhanics cynthia has a good chance of winning. Im not trying to be biased just trying to give evidence based on what i know i couls be wrong

well technically, Ash would've had to fight someone in the M8 for that to happen. Ash could've beaten Alain and took 6th, however, that opens up the question of why Ash couldn't have just challenged Leon as soon as he got into the M8, since that is literally his only reason for being in the PWC. I think Ash getting into the M8 right before the tournament was to avoid that.

In all honesty i think iris was champion just because adler was too old and past his prime same reason he lost to N in 5he games. Is it an asspull yeah kind off they should 100% flash it out more but we got what we got.

The reason he lost to N in the games is a combination of things, but it isn't necessarily age and not being in his prime directly:

We know this because the man gets his drive back and trains himself up to his peak for his title bout with Iris.
>N is stupid strong and has a remarkably strong legendary on his squad
Man has 4 post-game champion tier teams in BW2.
