They keep teasing the Unown in every game but they never do anything grandiose with them. When can we expect Unown to be a major plot point?

It's a gen 2 mon with a significant presence in gen 4. They will continue to find ways to bring back classic mons like Unown--it's literally THE posterchild for Pokemon with many forms

Never. They seem cool, but there's nothing you can do with a latin alphabet pokemon that will ever live up to the expectations of fans. Just look at all the fakemon that are nothing more than Unowns clumped together. Giving it an evolution just detracts from the "mystery" that the Unown is based on in the first place. Better left as a vague mystery mon used for atmospheric presence.
