Shiny hunting things like this make me schizophrenic. I saw something white on the ground and thought it was a flower bed, stopped to check the Pichu near it, it was a shiny Scatterbug.
I wonder how many others have been lost this way.
At least I got a shiny Veluza today so that was nice.

Not the worst example of this but the switch to 3d/less vibrant colours really messed with slowpoke; now the "new" colour scheme looks closer to what the shiny used to look like, and the shiny isn't as easy to distinguish from the regular colour.

Yeah this image >>52869761 shows what I mean pretty clearly, I did a slowpoke hunt in SV and the entire time I kept thinking I must have missed one because the lighting kept changing and it was hard to keep track of what the normal one was meant to look like.

Like 70% of Pokemon are some form of green/purple. It's because they're lazy and just shift over the Hue slightly which usually turns most things green without them seeming way too saturated or awful looking.

I really really hate the shaders used in SV. The cartoony, cel-shading used in LA wasn't perfect, but it was miles better than this. More detailed Pokémon look fine, but the simpler, more rounded designs, like Pichu, look awful.

Shinies have literally had an effect and sound since their inception. Also its desperately needed when you have Pokemon that have slightly changed saturation and are smaller than the grass. Not everything can be a bright blue psyduck running around and obvious as hell.

Green Mewtwo isn't a terrible shiny but there's way too many shinies that randomly turn into that colour, having a shiny look more like Mew's shiny would be a neat easter egg.

Not fond of the green umbilical chord tail, would probably work better if it was pink with that blue, really contrast and bring back the "We tried to clone Mew, but some of it turned shiny" idea.

Only when entering battles given overworld encounters weren't a thing until very recently outside of static event encounters

LGPE only had a sparkle and the mon showing shiny on the overworld, SWSH had nothing (not even the mon showing shiny), PLA had a sparkle and sound alongside the mon being shiny, and SV only has the mon being shiny. Acting like it's some long-standing tradition that SV removed is disingenuous at best given it's been implemented differently in every single game overworld encounters have been a thing

Some of these, such as parasect, tentacruel, and farfetch'd are really good, but some of them are major downgrades like arbok ditching its sick blue and gold colors, charizard throwing out the nice charcoal color, blastoise turning brown and grey (the OG shiny isn't great either but purple with a green shell is at least more interesting than this), etc.

The weird thing is that Slowbro’s difference is drastic. Riding along, you don’t miss the Purple Slowbro out of the corner of your eye. So why can’t Slowpoke be the same shade?
Prefer it this way round compared to Blue Psyduck evolves into a Blue Golduck kind of scenario, but still.
