Dugtrio and by extension gothitelle are healthy for any singles meta no matter how much smogon tries to tell you otherwise.

Dugtrio was really fun, when he was allowed. But I can see why they banned it. There's no counterplay at all for Dugtrio revengekilling you every time you get a KO, except only getting KOs with mons that beat him.

Most wallbreakers can't do that, And the ones that do will inevitably get banned. See Kyurem styling on Finch as an example. Dugtrio actually enables skillful play. It's one of the few ways to genuinely punish switching. Which otherwise is almost impossible to punish. Arena trap has so many options to counter it that it's not even funny, All of Shed shell, Pivot moves. Levitate/Flying types, Ghost types all have the ability to completely stuff a trapping attempt. The fact that duggy is very hard to safely get on the field to begin with due to a combination of hazards, It being incredibly frail and the fact that numerous pokemon can eat a hit from duggy because it's not that strong, 100 atk stab EQ might seem powerful but neutral targets would need to be chipped, Some pokemon that are weak to Dug can even take the hit and retaliate and kill it. Even Air balloon can be used to avoid Dug's EQ and force the other player to actually hit the pokemon that's currently in before switching in duggy for the kill. It's much harder to use dugtrio than people make it seem.

That's different because it has legendaries, which are obviously designed to be stronger than everything else.
There should be a format where you can use everything except legendaries and there's no other rules. That would be properly balanced.

It's almost like *gasp* the professional game developers actually know better than a bunch of neckbeard pedophiles, and legendary Pokemon are good when they have access to the tools they were meant to have at their disposal.
