Barry is that overly energetic kiddo with clear character flaws that make him kinda neat, especially that he got these flaws later pointed out by professor and got utterly humiliated by team Galaxy admin.

He got pointed out that he's dumb
He ignored it and got his ass handed to him
And ultimately he learned from this experience while still staying the same hyperactive retard. It's definitively better than Calen/Serena or lol Brendan/May.
