this is what lets go should have been after they went to the nintendo switch

the region should be based on the entirety of japan instead of just kanto
about 300-450 mons total
all mons now belong to 3-staged families and each family has their own small set of usable moves, meaning the animations are designed to be used by specific mons only (hence better animations)
single abilities for each family
why all these limitations? simple. if a mon performs better or worse competitively, it is far more easier to balance them instead of nerfing moves/abilities that are most likely shared with other mons that dont perform well

rework types, make them more balanced
merge types (ground/rock), remove types like dark/fairy that dont apply properly to most mons, implement mechanics for ice-water-fire interactions instead of separating ice and water

Pretty sure a lot of glitches in SV actually make traversing the world a chore. And for a game series like Pokemon where half the appeal is the presentation, if you fuck that up all you have is a mediocre turnbased RPG.

if anything, you will have more time with your second stage mons than the first
it just so happens that most newer mons are two staged and the ones that arent (i e starters) use the gibberish humanoid themes for the third stage that make them very different than the first two

They were the only games sticking to Satoshi Tajiri's vision. What is good or bad is irrelevant, first two gens are the closest to being real Pokemon games, ones representing what it's supposed to be. The changes and push towards making popular slob for masses that would sell merchandise is what killed Pokemon and turned it into shambling zombie.

All they really need to do is rebalance the first 400 or so Pokemon with new stat spreads and/or evolutions where needed. Don’t go full autism trying to make everyone 100% viable, but the vast majority of Pokemon should have some utility or use. Game Freak’s autism with not touching anything is what’s killing and stagnating the games. There’s also far too much reliance on single-gen gimmicks

Graphics already peaked on shit like Fifa and Assassins Creed. Really irrelevant when it comes to playability and enjoyment. That's why stuff like FNF and Undertale are massive.
The right mix is when the art style and graphics adds to the game rather than the game relying on it. I think Pokémon does this pretty well but the ideal on that is something like Cuphead.
