statistically impossible. Many streamers reported their first shiny in the first 3 hours of the game. I personally got my first after 20 hours but mostly because I like to hop from raids to raids instead of farming or question.

It took me a while to encounter my first shiny. I was about 30 hours post game before I found a shiny Swablu.

Did they change how shines appear in the game with the new patch. I thought I hearing the big complaint regarding shiny hunting was that you couldn’t tell which Pokémon in the overworld are shiny until you encounter them in battle, but Suablu had its shiny colorization in the overworld.

I found my first shiny and after I saved when I caught it I was 58 minutes in. didn't even make it to the big city yet.
I also replayed the game once already and found 2 shinies during my replaythrough, and I was literally just going from point A to point B the whole time, not looking around at all.
i find it would be near impossible to get the shiny charm without encountering a shiny, OP probably had some spawn on his screen and just missed them every time

Not impossible at all. I only got a shiny after completing the three main routes and I was taking things as slowly as possible, checking out every mon I could for being shiny.

not that impossible. especially if you have such bad luck having on of the "shiny looks barely different from default" shinies spawn. the lightning in this game makes these unnoticable unless you know how every single fucking shiny looks
