She had no reason to hide why she was trying to sabotage Steven's anti-meteor plan or what she intended to do about it other than the plot wouldn't have been able to continue without her being retarded. She also joined Team Magma/Aqua and helped them revive Groudon/Kyogre just because she thought it would piss off Rayquaza and she didn't care about the consquences.
