I think there's some interesting trends here, hard to draw a lot of conclusions though. The number of Pokémon in OU staying more or less the same between Gen 4 and 7 while the total number of Pokémon almost doubles is definitely interesting.
It should also be considered that Gen 8 and Gen 9 have a curated Dex which definitely affects the results. I'd love to compare Gen 9 with SwSh 1.0's meta, I'm sure a lot of Galar Pokémon got flushed out of their niche when the DLC brought back a ton of old mons and basically every Legendary.
It also misses other factors of powercreep, like new Pokémon (especially non-Legendaries) that were so strong they rose to Ubers, like Aegislash, Dracovish, and half a dozen Megas in Gen 6. And it doesn't consider game mechanics like Z-Moves and Dynamaxing.
