Almost all of them sucked in my opinion. Even some of the more popular Gen 4 cross-gens don’t sit right with me. Sure, Yanmega looks cool, but it’s such a surface-level cool that doesn’t even attempt to tie into Yanma’s design beyond being a dragonfly. And if you’re left unimpressed by a cross-gen evolution, it’s really shitty when the original mon (that you like) is all but guaranteed to be a textbook shitmon for eternity. Some combo of buffs / abilities / exclusive items should be used to make these original pokemon better. Ideally, it’d be a Scyther situation every time, where the original mon is already pretty good in its own right.

I just got mocked and ostracized for still liking Pokémon past gen 2 until 4. In gen 5 and beyond it was just whatever who cares.

I really don't. As a genwunner I remember gen 4 and 5 as the dark ages, the unambitious clones of gen 3 that added nothing but bloated dexes full of questionable designs. Every gen before and since the DS era has been better.

True I took gen 3 and 4 for granted.
At the time they just seemed like normal Pokemon games, meeting a standard level of quality that you could always expect from a Pokemon game.
I don't really like gen 5 but it would be cool to do the dreamworld & online features again.
