But when all mountains and surfaces look like the same area, you might as well not bother.
Climbing surfaces should have been reserved for post E4. Because as soon as you can climb walls with no cooldown you can just make a straight line for any objective and skip out on all the work.
It's better than SNS wild area, and Better than Legends in general.
But it's still an amateurism open world design that suffers from a few major flaws. One being the previously stated, everywhere looks the same. The other one being Tiny pokemon just walking into your path one after another. Instead of letting them gang up on you like archeus.
In my opinion. They should have done Sword and shield again. Pre determined maps and routes, and between these areas Chunks of open map areas. Instead of everything being in the open world, and bleeding together into generic blobs.
I legitimately think that this generation will have the most forgettable areas in the franchise to date. Except for the crystal area, that's pretty cool.
