I personally think it should've been the other way around.

Ground Type mainly encompasses themes of dirt, sand, soil, etc. Makes perfect sense to have Steel be super effective against it, and have Steel weak to Rock (denting, blunting, etc)

It even makes a cute little type circle, if you reverse the two.

A steel shovel can effectively dig up a patch of soil, sand or dirt (aka ground).

It can't however cut through rock.

So, why not give that SE to Rock type?
Right now, Rock has 4 SE's while having 5 weaknesses, while Ground gets 5 SE's and only 3 weaknesses.

wouldn't that make them less likely to be shocked? if you touch an electric fence while standing on the ground, you're going to be shocked, but if you touch it while standing on a plastic stool, you won't.

This question opens up another idea:
Should Steel and Electric both be super effective against eachother? A la Gen 1 Poison + Bug?

A lightning rod is sure to get hit hard by a bolt of lightning, but it would also earth it in the process.

RIP Skarmory/Corviknight if they ever made this happen.
