SM is regarded as the soul of the nu-anime for many reasons - best chemistry, best fillers, mallow episode, Lana, a fun season, best Team Rocket ever (you can tell the writers were having genuine fun) and it had one of the best accomplishments from Ash, it goes on and on. XY tried so hard there is a reason they did a 180 and never touched iit again.

Everybody stopped watching during SM because it looked like some low budget chinkshit
It was fucking OVER after the dogshit that was SM, they were so decided to axe the series after it they just gave ash the most retarded win then proceeded to fanservice the shit out of it for one last hurrah to end the series as a whole
