Honestly I can overlook the rest of the glitchy mess that is this game, but working on my living dex with those box loading times was horrendous. Can't even take a video of the finished product because the game shuffling through different icons ruins the look, and the load times will make it too long for the 30 second clip limit.

I think they're storing a pokémon icon for each single pokémon. Let's say you have 3 Caterpie, that's 3 models instead of one being referenced by the 3 pokémon, this way you increase the loading times by a lot.
And the icon itself being heavy because it's needlessly high res.

Yeah, agreed. Given how much you'd naturally interact with the box, (esp as both a comp player and collector) having it be slow as ass is just a fucking chore. I also hate that it went back to not displaying Shiny pokemon in box, AND got rid of mass releasing. Again.

PLAs pkmn icons they used were ugly, but at least navigating the boxes was relatively smooth.
