People need to be on board, know what they'll be adding to the sandwich, know locations, etc.
Then theres the fact that each player can make their own sandwich, allowing for potentially four hunts of four different pokemon at the same time.
The min maxing comes of knowing what sandwich to use, for roaring moon you basically have to use dragon, for slither you're better off using bug or you'll have four types of spawn instead of 3.
You can knock off like six different paradox in the cave with sandwich sharing, etc.
And the etiquette is important because of the needed coordination, it's not hard to understand once you get in the groove of it but there's a lot of steps where it can get fucked.
