I definitely enjoyed SwSh in 2019 more than I enjoyed SV in 2022. SwSh had:
>better gyms
>better player/clothing customization
>more polished/finished final product
>better champion
>better co-op raids
>quality over quantity dex
>better NPCs, better trainer battles and trainer classes
>better towns and shops

The gym leaders were done really well and home support makes it easy for me to box my starter for a different pre made level 5 pokemon otherwise I'd rather play anything beforehand

SV added too many new Pokémon, including plenty of useless filler and garbage. And SwSh had a greater percentage of all existing Pokémon included.

SwSh was garbage while SV are actual good games. That being said, I loved most of the character designs in this gen. Also had some nice locations like Ballonlea and Motostoke.

I didn't play this game but, Sword and Shield has an astonishing amount of high quality fanart for its characters. Maybe a testament to the designs? Their celebrity status in-game? Or because more people bought SwSh than any game since Gen 1? I don't know, but it amazes me considering how much the games were torn apart.

Going back to SwSh after SV is the craziest feeling of “holy shit I forgot what Pokémon is supposed to look like”.
The “realistic” textures/lighting fucking SUCK. I also think SwSh has a better regional dex.

I had no desire to even finish it. The only other time that happened was in gold because I encountered entei and it fled, and I didn't understand how roaming worked so I thought I missed my only chance to get it so I shut off the game and started crying and never played it again

The Wild Area was the worst fucking part, so boring and empty, and absolutely cancer to travel in when there's weather like sandstorm or snow, you can't see shit, trying to travel around to find G-Max Snorlax dens when the event was going on was fucking horrible.

Everything else.
The only thing I'll apologize for is not shitting on SM more so that they wouldn't think releasing more cutscene corridors like USUM and SWSH is acceptable. Had Gen 7 flopped, the quality of the series would be a straight shot up from Gen 6 but they somehow managed to lower the bar even more and people praise them for it.
