In my fantasies and playing i avoided legendary mons mainly due to the stigma, but also this strange sense that since they’re each only 1 of a kind, there’s a low chance I’d catch one “if pokemon was real”. The last point is objectively silly I know.

But why is there such a big stigma against using legendary Pokemon, listing them in your favorites, etc? I even see similar disdain for pseudo legendaries and starters. It’s like GF makes these Pokémon as cool and as marketable as possible on purpose to make you use them and love them and enjoy the game but people in the community look down on their use. Why is this exactly? And Is this the opinion of the majority or a loud minority of the community?
