Because nobody actually cares about the BF. The majority of players never touched or even got anywhere close to beating it, and people constantly cried about it being unfair, hax, unfun and frustrating back in the day. Normal battle facilities are boring as shit, but Arcade and Hall are both great. I don't have much reverence for Emerald frontier because it's mostly boring except for Pike and Pyramid.

Yes. Crystal was the first game to have a battle tower, so it makes sense for HGSS to include an upgraded version of it, but Game Freak can't so anything right so they just put use the same Battle Frontier that was in Platinum.

It does not make any sense for the games to have different Battle Towers either. And now you can do multiplayer between Pt and HGSS (even DP if it's just the Tower). It's not like HGSS was skimping out of original content either.

Fucking loved 4th gen BF (never played Emerald). Put hundreds of hours into it, it's such a unique way to play the game against computer that actually takes skill while still being casual enough you can do at least silver medals with your ingame favourite Pokémon.

In my opinion it's the best part to ever exist in the mainline games. GF should at least bring back Factory along with the Tower.

It's not as unique as the Emerald Battle Frontier. In Emerald, you had entire challenges that changed how you battle (Arena, Palace, Pike, Dome to an extent) or you had challenges that weren't just battling (Pyramid, Pike). In contrast, Sinnoh's Frontier was mainly just 'Battle Tower but x' and x is just one word:

>Arcade: Battle Tower but roulette
>Factory: Battle Tower but rental
Hall is unique enough, and the Battle Tower here isn't bad.

Since you don't battle actual people, and they cannot into advanced strategies such as, you know, switching or predicting properly, BF trainers have boosted critical hits, status effects, accuracy, etc. on top of having perfect IVs, favorable natures and minmaxed EVs after the 49th battle to account for the lack of actual huma thought behind them. It's bullshit but absolutely doable.

You use the hint feature in Pike to determine which room likely doesn't have a trainer battle.
Arena's point system likely won't screw you unless you run into some stall shit. Otherwise it plays exactly like the Tower only that you can't switch.
Spamming hyper potions against Brandon is easy yes.
Why wouldn't I want to use my Swampert?

I know Battle Factory was in emerald, but I didn't have emerald. So when I got to the frontier in Platinum I loved it and still play it to this day. Battle Factory (open) is my fav facility.

They can switch, but they only do it when it's the most obvious shit and sometimes not even that. For instance, when faced against a Swampert, all Anabel's Raikou will do is keep mindlessly spamming Calm Mind even though it only knows Thunderbolt.

Just use a Bold Milotic with toxic, recover and leftovers and it will absolutely destroy everything there. Whenever it gets hurt it just heals back again instinctively, toxic just needs to land once, maybe twice and even Toxic immunity doesn't save them from surf/ice beam eventually.

not nearly as much as with ORAS, in fact most of the criticism isn't even specifically about the BF itself and that simply falls into the broader umbrella of not being like Platinum as a whole, but the BF itself takes very little focus in BDSP discussion

Its omission from ORAS was so cataclysmic for me that I disregarded that game's postgame content entirely, even though there was an entire system for secret bases that could act as an eReader card substitution, which I would have loved. It also was the definitive game for Triple Battles, and you better believe that I did not play the Battle Maison since it was a copy-paste from XY.
