So it’s not 100% perfect “mythical per year” but there are always movies aimed at promoting some sort of “new” pokemon, be it a mythical distro or something from the upcoming Gen. Every movie except for M03 and the Mewtwo strikes back remake has fit the “promotion” aspect. Covid definitely cut into the movies as a business model, but they had already been in a decline since Hoopa’s essentially bombed.
