Then shitty aged up fanart popularizes the notion that X character is actually a teen, and thus akshually should have big tits and an enormous ass, and thus more shitty fanart and more people insisting they're an adult and it becomes a vicious cycle. But if they have canon ages, it doesn't matter if they look their age or if they're 15 or 35 or whatever - headcanons don't catch on and the overall ratio of good fan art goes up. I have studied this phenomenon for years and am a trusted expert.
