Additional types have a hard time justifying themselves, as of gen 9 it's actually pretty hard to argue there's any particular issues with the current type balance aside from maybe bug. Even Fairy is getting some needed nerfs in the recent games by way of giving steel more actually useful moves.
It's rare that an idea for a new type suggestion includes some mechanical reason it would help the game. As much as I think Fairy was a bad answer to Dragon's viability, it is more reason than something like sound or cosmic usually gets.
Thematically, you kinda pointed out why this would be a weird addition, there's very few existing pokemon that could be that type.
I love me some robots and AI and such but they can just be steel, electric, normal, etc. Hell going off paradox pokemon they can be whatever the hell you want.
All of this said, fangames have a tendency to introduce types and I actually don't think there's as many inherent problems when you do it there since that decision usually gets paired with enough sweeping changes to make their fangame just feel like a new system.
I'll humor what I think the interactions would be though.
>No effect on: Ghost & Fairy (spirits don't carry data that a computer can interact with)
>Weak to: Ghost (poltergeists can possess inanimate objects), Electric (EMPs, thunder storms, etc. cause problems for technology), Bug (a pun, also bug needs this buff)
>Resists: Psychic (mind = code, alakazam is not a programmer), Poison (not organic)
>Immune to: Fairy (fairies are associated with nature and folklore, things technology trumps and AI doesn't believe in respectively)
>Strong against: ...?
>Resisted by: ...?
I kinda have no idea what Cyber-type attacks would be
