Bred for both, only got perfect IVs in stuff that mattered, offensive stats for most mons, and HP stat for my Swampert

Uh I can't really give a solid time but to estimate

Emerald: Caught a Latios over and over until I found a Modest one with good/decent IVs maybe like 1-2 hours?
Bred Mudkips until I got a brave natured max hp max attack (?) and decent speed IV one uhh another few hours
Accepted Beldum until Adamant Max Atk Max Speed, don't remember this taking too long
Bred a Miltank until Max HP Max SpDef, nature wasn't a big deal think I settled for Sassy idk

Let's say about 5ish hours maybe closer to 7 or 8 with team planning, EVing
I sped up EVing and Leveling by duping vitamins and rare candies, stats were legit so this was just a time save in my book

Platinum took a lot longer cause I tried different teams, in total I bred a Garchomp, Scizor, Infernape, Gengar, and Tyranitar, along with transferring emerald mons over

Maybe around 15-20 hours considering how much slower leveling is without duping rare candies

Not that anon, but I beat singles Tycoon with the 3 johto starters
They had 3 max IVs at best, Meganium was a dual screener, Typhlosion was a Specs user and Feraligatr was life orb dragon dance
Took a week to make them though

I had a good time playing with my EV trained ingame mons. I also bred some Pokémon (Ambipom and Scizor I believe), but just for the nature, I did not care for IVs. Did not get all gold but I think I got a few + all silver ones. Multiplayer was dope as well, glad you could do it also with HGSS.

Battle Factory is my favorite one.

Getting a "wonderfully outstanding" (how the stat judge from the battle frontier calls pokemon that have between 151-186 total IVs) pokemon with two perfect IVs and a favorable nature isn't super hard, it should take a few hours at most. The stat judge is in the house directly above the Pokemon Center in the frontier. Now, getting more than 2 perfect IVs, especially the exact 3 or 4 that you want, now that's hard. 3 is still doable but it might take up to a full day if you're unlucky, although it can be much less if the RNG gods bless you. Some Pokemon get 3 perfect IVs but the other 3 are shit, so it's really the combination of all factors that's harder. Getting them with 4 perfect IVs has only happened to me like 5 times total, in weeks and weeks of breeding, and a couple or times they had absolute shit speed so it was worthless in the end. With 5 or 6 perfect IVs? You're better off buying a lottery ticket and winning.

2 should be more than enough for almost every single facility except for the Gold Symbol in the Battle Tower, however. Silver Symbols you can get even with a regular team and just a decent strategy.

Honestly even like above 10 is fine for something like the defense or spdef stat on an offensive mon that will probably be OHKOd by a SE move anyway, but NEVER skimp on speed, it can save you

Just the 2 most favorable max IVs that you need. Speed is almost always a must, but it depends on which Pokemon you use. Milotic benefits with defense and HP for example, although speed is always welcomed, it's not the biggest priority like the other 2 since it has reliable recovery and you will use it for stalling with toxic (amazing combo for the palace). Speed is still more useful overall for most teams. The IVs of the other stats are not as important desu, there's going to be a point in the Battle Tower that you will get one shot or two shot no matter what, or pokemon witll just spam 1HKO moves and nothing matters against that when they land; you can go for it and mid 20s, sometimes even 29/30 isn't super hard, but it's not necessary IMHO. I'd say that most facilities are accesible enough that just a decently trained pokemon with a good nature and a good strategy can get you to gold, even if not perfect by itself. I won silvers and I think even 1 gold with a shiny Magneton even though it had shit IVs, nature and I was just a dumb kid who barely knew what he was doing waaay back when the games came out.

That's tough. Past the 49th battle or so (I'm a bit rusty so not sure) you will be facing completely perfect legendaries, pseudos and annoying shit like Lapras, Walrein (bulky faggots often with OHKO moves) or Starmie and Alakazam (fast as all fuck, with amazing coverage and that hit like a train) on every battle. And you need a streak of 70 to get to Anabel, which in turn has a Latias and a Curselax. If you lose you need to start all over again, and this is why I wasted so much time breeding the best Pokemon I could get. My only suggestion is: use Slaking. I refused and made it so much harder for myself, but Slaking is king. Blissey if you can get one as well. If not, Latios, Latias, Metagross and Swampert are options. Speed, HP, Attack, Special Attack, Defense IVs, whatever you can get is good here. Speed above all.

Sorry, meant to say that Anabel has a LatiOs, not Latias.
Also, the battle palace is easy with a Milotic that has recovery + leftovers. It will spam healing moves and toxic by itself and Eve will just die while it outlasts everything. People complain about the Palace for good reason, but with a good strategy you can trivialize it for the most part.

Have in mind that it's an absolute pain in the ass to get one, and then evolve it. Also, inheriting HP and Defense IVs is much harder than the other stats.

Probably yeah, Salamence was a beast in Gen 3 overall. But I preferred to exclusively focus on attack though. Brick Break, Aerial Ace, Earthquake and Rock Slide cover almost everything you will encounter. You lose Dragon Claw which is special in Gen 3, but you still have STAB Aerial Ace, which is useful as fuck since the trainers in the frontier love spamming Double Team and Minimize. Any pokemon with Ice Beam can get rid of all the Dragons you see, Milotic is great for this although it struggles against Latios and Latias specifically.

My Anabel team was Latios/Metagross/Slaking
Banded Slaking with Hyper Beam can bail you out of a lot.
Metagross was mostly a tank with Leftovers. Explosion was also pretty useful for solving problems.
Latios had Psychic/Thunderbolt/Dragon Claw/Calm Mind but the team kept struggling with Rock types. Rhydon can carry Horn Drill and switching Metagross in on potential Earthquakes was too scary. I decided to drop Calm Mind for Surf and I got more consistent results and could climb the ranks better. This creates another risk where Latios can't boost its power. Anabel didn't use Calm Mind on her Raikou or Latios but the fight could have gone worse if she did.

Starmie and Latios pretty much do the same thing. Leads with a lot of special coverage. Starmie is faster and has Natural Cure. Latios is a bit slower but is bulkier and has Levitate.
Salamence is a bit tricky. You'll have to breed for either Dragon Dance or Hydro Pump. You might need Aerial Ace for those Double Team pokemon too. DDance with Earthquake is solid. I don't think Salamence replaces Latios though. I used both of them in the Arena actually. Lead Latios softens everything up and then Salamence enters in with Intimidate and can DDance to finish the match.

I don't find DD and Hydro Pump useful in the frontier desu. Like sure, stetting up is nice and all but you hardly ever get an opportunity to do so. An Adamant Salamence with perfect Attack IVs and full EV investment is enough to OHKO most pokemon even without setting up. A Normal or Drak type show up? Brick Break kills them. Fighting, Grass, Double Team, Minimize, Blissey? Aerial Ace does the job. Steel, Fire, Electric, etc? Earthquake. Flying? Rock Slide. You encounter another Salamence (often with Dragon Claw or Rock Slide), an Ice/Water type with Ice Beam, Lunatone? Just switch to Milotic, it can take a hit, it will recover and deal with them with Surf, Ice Beam or Toxic. Hydro Pump is just too unreliable, it has low PP, the other pokemon often hold birghtpowder and the RNG is rigged on their favor. Not ideal IMHO.
