Reading protect is mad easy, anon. Especially on mons you know will be running it.
The only reason I even find Garga to be annoying is because my current team is weak to salt cure chip damage. My main attackers are Clawitzer and Scizor, my setup mon is an Umbreon with steel tera. My bullshit staller is a Flygon. My supporters are a Sableye who can't really do much against it and a defensive Farigiraf (who still does 40-60 with energy ball, based on natures and EV). I didn't account for Garga in team building because there were so few I faced with the last teams and I wanted to meme with my bros, so a bad lead from me can decide the game. All I have to do is bring one of my reserves that don't have the type issue (Covert Cloak Slowbro, Dragalge, Acid Spray Salazzle) and suddenly any lead I send can either ignore (to deal with the likely Mewoscarada) or deal with him. It's good, but probably better in singles where it doesn't have to deal with 2x the damage.
