No bait, no irony, no shitpost, the only difference between SwSh and DPPt is the point in your life when you first played them. Like the other Anon said, every Pokemon game except for the most recent releases have quite literally been the exact same thing. If you hated SwSh, your criticisms almost certainly apply to DPPt, and vice versa. The first 8 Gens are all the same thing, it’s like Marvel movies, you might like the aesthetics/plotlines of some of them more, but under the surface they’re all the exact same formula being followed 1:1.
All I’m saying is this board is under the illusion that Pokemon was formerly some masterpiece that devolved into a child cashgrab, and they never realize that it’s them that’s changed, not the series. You have lower standards when you’re a kid, and everything seems awesome with childhood goggles. Your own jadedness and coming of age is the only reason that you think SwSh is worse than DPPt, and again, that’s okay. I like Gen 3, I don’t like Gen 5, I just don’t try to do the braindead “My game is so much better because.. it just is okay?!?” thing with it because I realize that every Pokemon game is just a different flavor of the same dogshit, they always ALWAYS have the same strengths and weaknesses, it just comes down to how much the presentation gels with your own autism, anyone who unironically thinks a generation is better than another for any reason other than personal preference is completely mindbroken.
