I’ll fill you in a little bit since you weren’t around back then: as there had never been a dex cut before, no one cared about the fact that BW had every Pokemon, and in fact to the average player it had the opposite of every old Pokemon. You guys are so spoiled by the luxuries of Pokemon Bank and Home that you don’t even remember the disaster of BW’s launch. The mediocre Unova dex is ALL that we had, unless you used the tedious transfer to send in 6 Pokemon at a time and shoot them with a fucking bow and arrow. Nobody transferred old mons into Gen 5 cause it was a pain in the ass. Again I say, Gen 5 was the least popular, most hated, most controversial release in the series with the biggest drop off in quality and reception ever before seen, and even simply acknowledging that fact with 0 bias causes Unovaborts to sperg out and explode about how you’re apparently a Gen 5 hater. I like Gen 5 just fine, I just happen to be old enough to remember that the hate against SwSh and SV is NOTHING compared to the way BW were torn apart. There has been a more disastrous transition since HGSS -> BW. SwSh and SV still sold well, BW’s bad press was so extreme that it made sales suffer to the series worst, lower selling than remakes. Why does acknowledging that make you so angry anon? You can’t change history.
