Typically the canon names unless I have an idea for 'em. I believe I used a variation on Moon since her english name is just Moon

I choose a party theme then name my character that way. In my mono steel BW2 run I named myself Mendel then named my pokemon off of elemental metals.

Use my online alias (which is a normal name) and usually pick the boy, only excepting if:
-I really hate the male protagonist's design
-It's a region I've already played, i.e. I pick the opposite gender I used in BW for B2W2, third versions, etc.

A random misspelling that I originally did as a kid. I don't even know what I wanted to originally write because I fucked over several letters after I smashed the buttons a couple of times without paying attention while my brother was talking to me.
It turned out to be phonetic, simple, unique and I just keep it out of tradition.
