What does /vp/ think of single stage Pokemon? Should they all have evos? Are you okay with some of them staying like that?

I am perfectly fine with single stage Pokémon, but there are some that needs prevos/evos, and some Pokémon with prevos/evos that really should just be a single stage Pokémon.

It's mostly pre-evos. Mostly single-stage Pokemon are already designed as a fully-evolved mon

I'm not really interested in using most single-stage Pokemon myself because I think a lot of the fun is having your team grow and evolve, but at the same time I think getting rid of/retconning them would take away what makes those Pokemon unique.

It's better to be single stage, and even a single stage shitmon, than to have a post Gen III design that ruins the entire line.
Lickitung, Tangela, Aipom, Murkrow, Misdreavous, Girafarigm, Gligar and Nosepass were much better off before Lickilicky, Tangrowth, Ambipom, Honchkrow, Mismagius, Farigiraf, Gliscor and Probopas.

Some of my favorite designs are/were single stage pokemon but its pretty obvious that a lot of them, especially gen 5 going back, were made just to appear in one area to so the game wouldn't feel as samey. This has to be bait. I can understand Lickilicky and Ambipom + Probopas a little. But Gliscor and Tangrowth? really? they're just larger, more visually imposing, versions of their pre-evolutions. The only issue I could see you having with them is that they're not transformative enough.

Hard to say. On one hand I want them to dvolve, on the other hand sometimes you get a Rhyperior. But then again, Mismagius, Dufunsparce, Firagaraf and some others look great and natural.
