The important thing is that fire/dark hit's almost everything for at least neutral, the stats and broken ability in turn can guarantee that a lot of damage is dealt. Fire fishy is a powerhouse based on everything it received.

We should consider ourselves lucky because it originally had 145 instead of 135. Someone told me, if it did kept the 145, it would be around 210, basically the stronger Pokémon of all time.
