>>53035779No, they're my pics. Here's a selection of cards I posted yesterday pictured in front of the print present in all the images.
>>53035808Dig this card a lot. I've got to get the Japanese holo version.
>>53037263I said it earlier, but I only buy graded cards when they're roughly the same price as raw near mint cards. I prefer raw cards, but actually finding any in decent shape online is tedious and unreliable, especially post-2020.
>>53035375What you've pointed out in this image (the "pallor" and the lit chest, etc.) is reflected light. Like you said, it's light bouncing off the environment, not light coming from a direct source, and it only appears relatively bright to us because it contrasts what we see of this surfer, which is almost totally in shadow. Again, it's hard to say what Nishida intended with the Dragonite, but I don't think all the harsh whites all over seemingly arbitrary and opposing parts of its body are just meant to be reflected light. If this were the case, we wouldn't expect all these parts to have the same value. If what you're saying is true, the reflected highlights all over the dragonite are as intense as the direct light and highlights -- actually more intense, relative to the head, which is a strange choice.
And maybe I should have clarified earlier: I don't really dislike this card, so if you like it, that's fine. I actually think this is one of her better looking illustrations (for whatever that's worth), and other parts of the composition make up for Nishida's poor technical skill. I just think it's also a good example of Nishida's bad fundamentals.
