>>53063576I think it would probably be better to go with HOME images, since those would be more consistent especially since sprites are no longer guaranteed for all Pokemon and would otherwise have to get sprites from fan edits which could have varying degrees of quality depending on which ones are chosen.
As far as structuring the dex, the basic approach would be to simply list how many Pokemon you want in the dex and then be able to drag and drop Pokemon into the dex. You could add nuances like being able to select an entire evolutionary line or having the dex include inbuilt options for Starters, Regional Birds, Bugs, Rodents, Fossils, Psuedos, etc.
Maybe clicking on the Pokemon images will change them between forms and regional variants or have an option that includes regional variants as separate Pokemon for dexes where perhaps you'd want both to appear.
Maybe include a "Blank" space where user can input their own fakemon although that'd more so be a bonus. You could also have types appear on the Pokemon, maybe have four options; No Types shown, Type Colours as Background, Type Titles and Type Icons, the caveat there would be then that the fakemon option would need to be developed out to be able to customize which types appear on it.
