I don't understand why they had to lock off all the cross-gen evolutions until after Blue. Why do I have to stick with Togetic all through Johto AND Kanto? They should've at least allowed you to get the items and whatnot as soon as you get to Kanto, and ideally, just stick them in Johto in a balanced fashion.

The worst offenders are Gliscor and Weavile because you have to get 48 BP in the Battle Frontier to get their items. And you can't even get Magnezone, Leafeon and Glaceon at all.

ORAS may be a worse remake overall, but I liked how relaxed they were with cross-gens, even including them in the Elite Four.
