I feel like I'm gonna like SV less in the future

I'm not gonna waste your time with the usual shit about how SV is "glitchy" or "runs like dogshit" or whatever because we all already know that, the real debate has always been whether those things ruin the game overall.
Me, personally, I've always leaned to the more positive side of things, even if the criticisms were legit. But lately I've been thinking, maybe that's just a matter of perspective?
I've always been one of those "3d is when pokemon went to shit" people because, even if I knew that was a gross oversimplification of the actual decline the series was suffering from, I felt it was a solid rule of thumb quality wise. But lately, man, I've been really softening up on gen 6 and 7. When they came out I absolutely hated them, for more less the reasons you'd think, but I think a huge reason I actually felt so strongly at the time is because I was afraid of what they suggested about the direction of the series. But now that gen 6 and 7 are way in the past and no longer carry any uncertain implications, I can more easily appreciate them for what they're trying to be and avoid looking at them with an overly critical lens, like stuff that used to bother me doesn't anymore now that I know they aren't there to stay. And that's the thing: the MAIN reason I like SV and can overlook it's flaws is because, in my mind, it's bringing the series closer to what I was hoping it'd be. But in the future, chances are more games will come out that overshadow SV a bunch in the ways that it currently excels, and suddenly it's flaws will be way less understandable.

TLDR I'm call it now, SV are gonna go through a reverse zelda cycle
