With swsh I could understand being mad at the natdex cut because you got literally nothing in return, but it's more clear with Legends and SV that they have been adding a bunch of new model reworks, texture reworks, animations, and environmental interactions to each pokemon and will probably keep adsing onto that in the future. So it's understandable they'd want to work with a smaller pool.
