I'll say it again, for the slow, friendless kids in class - the linking cord was a concession to SP gameplay and was never realistically going to be added in a game where they encourage trading between copies of the game to complete the 'Dex (like say, locking an entire legendary behind one or other version).
Your own fault for thinking this SP concession was a clarion call to the friendless retards like you still playing.

Quality is subjective. It adds in stuff I've wanted for years, and only removed stuff I never interacted with anyways, so it's all good and I like it. If you cared about the things removed, thst sucks and is a fair reason to dislike it, but acting like there's objectivity here is just stupid.

you can still incentivize trading by making it -easier- to complete the dex with trading, but you shouldn't cockblock players without online from completing it

Part of the genesis of trading pokémon was Tajiri thinking it'd be cool if he and Sugi could trade powerful items between their games in some JRPG they were both playing at the time (Tajri wanted to put 6 thousand individual intances of pokémon distribution in to guarantee people needed to trae, before Miyamoto told him having two clear versions would be better).
