This is fairly obvious to anyone paying the slightest attention to anything the franchise has put out in the last 20 years.

However I don’t believe thats a Yungoos. Its an error/retcon because the series was still new at that point and didnt have enough creatures to fill the niche of some animals.
Pokemon = Animals and this isnt up for debate.

References to real animals are one thing, but what about real locations?

In gen 1, South America was referenced in the Mew diaries. India was referenced in the Pokedex (Indian elephants). And I believe even China was referenced in the Pokedex at one point.

That “ghostly pterosaur” is Fluttermane. A “pterosaur” is a descriptor for a flying ancient reptile. Pokémon have classifications too you buffoon. Rockruff being the “Puppy Pokémon” doesnt confirm the existance of real puppies outside of dog-like pokemon.

It was actually Ponyta. The Eiffel Tower is mentioned in its Stadium entry. Ayers Rock/Uluru is mentioned in Fire Red.

I used to enjoy the theory that humans in the Pokemon world were just isekai'd there, in a dangerous world where their weapons are useless and they can only fight fire with fire by taming the creatures of that mysterious new reality, and that this is why they compare Pokemon to general human knowledge in the Pokedex and so on. But I never expected canon to be weirder, lamer and more nonsensical.
